What a Class!

What a great reunion weekend in July 2017!

So many classmates attended the 40th Reunion Gala Dinner Saturday night and the Sunday picnic. There were lots of informal get-togethers before and after the reunion.

We are in process of posting pictures.  All were taken from Facebook.  Still learning how to enable classmates to post names on the photos and to post our own photos that were not on facebook (or missed!).  Click on "Photo Gallery".

 40th Reunion was a blast!

GALA special guest - Mr. Fisher

WELCOME SPEECH TO CLASS OF '77 AT THE 40th REUNION

First, I just want to say how wonderful it is to see all your faces again.  Welcome home!  It seems like only a handful of years ago we were all here, and not four decades ago.  Who ever thought back in 1977 that someday you’d have to pay for water, and that acquiring music would be free?  Do you really remember 1977 at Allderdice?  Do you remember hanging out at the stack, the first floor main, on the front steps and lawn, and at Nick’s luncheonette… before running up the hill during an infamous Mr. Fisher raid?  (TURNING TO MR. FISHER) You HAD to have been on the track team during your high school years, Mr. Fisher.

I have had the privilege of speaking to so many of you as part of planning this reunion and I know that what I am about to say reflects not only the personal feelings of the entire reunion committee and me, but those of many of you who decided to attend this evening.

We are all blessed to have so many friends from different walks of life and at different times in our lives … our college, work, neighborhood, temple, church whatever.  Life is a series of orbits that you travel in, and in each orbit you bond with the people at that time and place.  Tonight, we return and revisit an orbit that we all shared and moved in together all through high school and often even through grade school.

In the end, there is something so special about the people who knew you when you were growing up; the ones who knew your siblings and parents; who knew where you lived – the ones that were there when your personality gelled and formed.  Tonight we celebrate the memories of our Allderdice friendships, both old and new.

Let the fun begin!
